The American Chemistry Council (ACC), a national trade association representing the world’s leading chemical and plastics manufacturers, currently has an opportunity for an Advocacy Director for its Plastics Division.
The position is responsible for developing, directing and managing advocacy on policies, technical issues, and public outreach impacting spray polyurethane foam (SPF) insulation and other products for the building and construction sector. The position provides these services primarily for a member company group that formulates SPF insulation systems, and also coordinates advocacy on related insulation and building and construction products.
The position is also responsible for collaborating with related groups within the Center for Polyurethanes Industry (CPI), ACC, as well as a wide variety of allied organizations and government representatives. This position reports to the Senior Director, CPI.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline, Master’s degree preferred; five to seven years’ experience progressively responsible experience in a relevant work environment, such as a trade association, non-profit, or policy/advocacy organization, experience in the chemical, polyurethane, construction or
related industry preferred; ability to design and implement strategy, direction and plans; ability to travel occasionally; excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability and willingness to give presentations to both small and large groups a must.
