Leading health care provider association has an immediate opening for a Federal Government Relations Manager to manage the activities of our community health center committee, foster working relationships with related associations and appropriate federal agency staff, and assist our federal relations staff in the coordination of materials and meetings and, at times, conducting direct lobbying on Capitol Hill. Duties include representing the association at public health meetings and hearings, facilitating communication with public health stakeholders and appropriate federal agencies and developing relationships with Capitol Hill and agency staff. Incumbent will also provide membership support to general members’ requests for information and provide administrative support and special projects to staff. Ideally, the successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in public health (M.P.H.) and two to three years’ experience in health care policy and previous interaction with federal agency staff and/or congressional staff. Candidates will have strong written, oral and interpersonal skills, be well organized; detail and deadline oriented and must be able to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously. Candidates must also have a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate association positions, information and concerns.
