Associate, Business Development

Avalere Health is seeking an Associate, Business Development. As an entry-level salaried business development position, the Associate, Business Development will be responsible for day-to-day interactions with prospective clients across the life sciences industry. They will establish initial contact with clients and potential clients, and facilitate follow-up activities that lead to new business opportunities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Development/Sales Activities
•Identify and target prospective clients through strategic planning and execution
•Communicate with prospective clients using effective outreach methods via email and phone
•Ability to demonstrate and communicate the ROI of a product
•Schedule sales meetings and appointments for Sales Directors with prospective clients to achieve weekly and monthly goals
•Prepare background material and market research in preparation for all sales meetings and appointments
•Update and Maintain internal database to track key performance metrics and activities

Strategy and Outreach Activities
•Develop deep knowledge of the assigned industry and corresponding executive priorities to assist in opportunity identification
•Create a strategic outreach plan with Sales Directors to target prospective clients through market segmentation for a pool of organizations
•Develop targeted campaigns for recruitment to annual events
•Manage special projects as necessary

Skills, Experience, and Other Job Related Requirements:

The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in work experience
•Must possess at least two of the following: •Leadership experience •Customer service experience •Experience working in a team environment •Sales or fundraising experience •Experience in an office setting

The following qualifications are not required but preferred:
•Proven ability to meet and exceed goals
•Ability to communicate by e-mail and phone with senior executives
•Proven experience managing multiple, competing priorities while working towards an established goal
•Ability to overcome challenges or obstacles in the moment
•Proven persuasive experience
•Strong Attention to detail
