American Israel Education Foundation (AIEF) Israel Seminars Director

Summary: AIEF is seeking a dynamic, articulate and savvy professional with excellent communication, people and staff management skills to fill the position of Israel Seminars Director. In this senior position, the Trips Director, working with Departmental stakeholders, will oversee the development, coordination and execution of educational seminars to Israel sponsored by the American Israel Education Foundation. He/she will serve as the principal point of contact with AIEF in Jerusalem on trip objectives, focus and programmatic elements. The Director will also be responsible for developing and implementing a significant trip alumni educational program.

Detailed Duties:
•Develop yearly trip goals for AIEF
•Identify key constituency groups for Israel travel including policy makers, opinion leaders and other “influentials”
•Determine individual trip objectives
•Oversee trip recruitment process
•Work directly with AIEF in Jerusalem to develop trip objectives and itineraries
•Direct and oversee coordination of U.S. logistics for AIEF trips
•Oversee ethics compliance process for members of Congress, congressional staff and state elected officials
•Develop and implement a post-trip AIEF alumni program
•Supervise staff and oversee budgets

•Ten or more years of experience in the U.S. public policy, legislative or political arena
•Strong management skills with proven experience in supervising employees and developing and administering budgets
•Passion for Israel and U.S.- Israel relationship a must
•Excellent organizational skills
•Middle East foreign policy background preferred
•Familiarity with Israeli geography and culture
•Ability to travel
•Master’s degree preferred
•Hebrew language skills a plus
