Larry Bucshon is a third-term Congressman on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. Congressman Bucshon’s background as a cardiothoracic surgeon might appeal to those interested in the medical field, healthcare policy, and the political and legislative process in general. Congressman Bucshon represents the 8th District of Indiana.

-You must either be enrolled in an accredited college or university, or have been a full-time student of one within the last year. Our office will happily complete any paperwork required for various educational internship programs that award college credit
-You must be either a citizen or legal resident in the United States
-Candidates with connections to Indiana or the Midwest in general are preferred, but not required
-You will undergo training to learn how to research legislative and political issues using various information databases reserved for Members of Congress and their personal staff
-You will undergo training to learn how to write legislative briefs and constituent correspondence
-You will be required to handle direct communications with constituents, interest groups, and other government employees
-You will be required to provide tours of the United States Capitol on occasion
-You may be required to attend legislative briefings on behalf of the Member of Congress or staff
-You will be encouraged to attend legislative briefings and hearings for your own benefit
