MANAGER – Research
Manager is a mid-level research position with a focus on conducting opinion research studies for our top political and public affairs clients. The manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of a research project and understanding the larger client objectives.

Managers are expected to juggle multiple assignments at any given time — whether it’s managing projects and clients, producing research documents and deliverables, or assisting with marketing and proposals. Managers will begin to work with entry-level analysts on projects and be expected to delegate when appropriate while still being accountable for final deliverables.

Responsibilities
•Collaborate with colleagues to manage and complete each stage of political campaign polling projects, corporate research projects, and/or public affairs research projects
•Conceptualize and produce client-ready survey questionnaires and qualitative research screeners and guides in conjunction with Analysts, reviewing deliverables as needed
•Conceptualize and produce analyses of research projects in conjunction with Analysts — both written analyses and visual PowerPoint presentations, reviewing deliverables as needed
•Conceptualize, produce, and edit new business proposals and presentations, with senior staff oversight
•Oversee and coordinate research projects by actively keeping track of project details, organizing tasks, and keeping team’s adherence to timelines without prompting
•Manage the administrative side of projects including tracking financials and initiating invoices
•Take an active role in project fielding, i.e., review partial data, provide edits, and discuss weighting targets with data team
•Actively troubleshoot project fielding issues, identify, make recommendations, and implement solutions
•Report on research findings and other deliverables during client calls
•Oversee junior staff in the execution of projects
•Establish and cultivate strong client relationships to successfully manage day-to-day needs and expectations
•Develop research designs and methodological approaches and sampling plans for new business in order to meet client research objectives
•Demonstrate professionalism, maturity and good judgment, contributing to a positive work environment for colleagues and clients

Qualifications
•4+ years of experience in public affairs and political research producing client deliverables and managing research projects.
•Experience executing each stage of a research project (e.g. writing surveys and moderators’ guides, overseeing research field process, producing client deliverables, etc.)
•Strong project management and organizational skills and a proven ability to successfully juggle multiple projects simultaneously
•Excellent communication and writing skills
•Excellent quantitative and analytic skills
•Team player with the ability to collaborate maintain strong working relationships
•Ability to mentor and train entry-level employees
•Ability to work efficiently and quickly produce high-quality work product
•Strong attention to detail and experience with catching mistakes and being detail-oriented in a research environment
•Ability to learn and develop new techniques and methodologies
•Experience assisting with marketing and new business (i.e., writing proposals and producing pitch decks, developing methodologies and research programs, producing thought leadership content, etc.)
•Experience/coursework with statistics and advanced quantitative methods a plus
•Interest or experience using digital research tools a plus — including social media and digital analytics
•Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
•Expertise producing graphical representation of data. Infographics experience a plus.

Education: Bachelor’s degree required

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
