Production Manager

The Lukens Company (TLC) is a full-service direct response marketing agency specializing in fundraising and membership development for non-profit organizations and associations, fundraising and voter mail initiatives for political candidates, political advocacy organizations and committees, and creating marketing and promotional packages for corporations.
TLC, seeks an ambitious Production Manager to manage direct mail production for several political accounts. The position will be based in our Arlington, VA office.
Position Description:
The Production Manager is responsible for establishing internal and external production schedules for all projects, executing direct mail programs from print through mail drop. The Production manager must manage outside vendors, create purchase orders, deliver job instructions, and control costs; proof blue lines and facilitate invoices.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Create purchase orders and support the billing process by facilitating and finalizing costs and invoices for each project
• Communicate with the account team on the progress, cost, and specifications of different jobs in production.
• Review Print Proof (blue line) and Setups for quality and accuracy.
• Develop and maintain relationship between vendors and TLC.
• Provide guidance to vendors on TLC’s production procedures and payment terms.
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum 2-5 years prior direct marketing production experience, strong communication, organization and detail orientation, and multitasking ability. Prior experience in printing industry and project management preferred. Flexibility and a mix of proactive and re-activeness are a must. Previous agency experience preferred.
