Policy, Advocacy and Programming

Men’s Health Network (MHN) seeks an experienced professional to manage health policy and advocacy initiatives. This position will be responsible for tracking policy developments related to male health as well as coordinating current and new initiatives and programs that engage policymakers, partner organizations, and other stakeholders in strategies to improve the health and wellbeing of boys, men, fathers, and their families. The successful candidate with become familiar with all aspects of the organization’s activities and programs.

This position is based out of the Old Town Alexandria office.

–Essential Duties and Responsibilities–

Plan, organize and lead meetings of key stakeholders in health and family policy

Coordinate educational briefings and other events on a broad range of male topics

Build and maintain relationships with policymakers at the federal and state levels

Coordinate campaigns and develop and implement programs that bring attention to issues in male health and fatherhood

Represent MHN in coalition meetings on a wide range of public health and related issues

Develop partnerships with like-minded organizations

Write letters and comments on proposed rules and other policy items

–Qualification Requirements:–

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution 2+ years of relevant professional experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills Substantial knowledge of the U.S. healthcare system and key health policy issues

Experience working in coalitions and with policy makers and legislative bodies

Adaptability to changing demands of the position

Should have a passion for promoting the health and well-being of men and boys.

Bilingual is a plus
