The Mercatus Center at George Mason University is seeking an email marketing manager to lead the charge on advancing our email communications. If you have an interest in digital marketing, writing/editing, project management, and experimenting with new technology to solve problems, this is a great opportunity for you.
As a member of a growing marketing team, the email marketing manager will have the opportunity ensure Mercatus delivers quality, innovative, and targeted content to our audience groups. The person will report to the Director of Marketing.
Primary responsibilities include:
Executing Mercatus email marketing campaigns. This includes creating and sending:
Government affairs messages to hill staffers
Marketing for our student programs
Product announcements (books, videos, infographics, etc.)
Managing our email contacts and their integration with Salesforce
Managing email requests and the master calendar
Training others in the organization who use the software on best practices and quality control
Creating emails with HTML templates using best practices in design, UX, and copy
Managing email data and analytics
Implementing strategies to organically grow our core email lists
3-5 years of experience in email marketing or digital marketing
Excellent writing and proofreading skills
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and clients in a fast-paced environment
Experience working in email software
Base knowledge of HTML (CSS is a plus)
Interest in working in economic and public policy issues
Bonus: Experience working in Salesforce or similar CRMs
