The Office of Representative Judy Chu (Pasadena, CA) seeks motivated full-time (4-5 days a week) interns for the Winter/Spring of 2014 in Washington, D.C. This is an ideal internship for candidates interested in learning about the legislative process and working with a highly diverse constituency. Basic responsibilities include leading Capitol tours, handling constituent mail, answering incoming calls, and assisting with daily office operations. Rep. Chu’s office is also committed to providing a robust, substantive intern experience. Interns will have the opportunity to attend committee hearings and policy briefings, as well as assist legislative staff with in-depth policy issues. Ideal candidates must be mature, self-motivated, and highly professional. Candidates should also possess the ability to prioritize tasks, pay close attention to detail and deadlines, have a proven track record of critical thinking, excellent research and writing abilities, and have a good sense of humor. *Please note: This is an active, growing office. A high level of performance and professionalism will be expected.
