Avalere Health is seeking a Director, Business Development. The Director, Business Development is a persuasive leader, who can comfortably explain a concept, and then map a potential client’s problems to Avalere’s solutions. These leaders are a crucial part of Avalere’s growth, and do everything from help launch new programs and lines of business to generate interest and connections on existing products and programs across our industry.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

•Ability to demonstrate and communicate the ROI of a product
•Prospect and build new business within an assigned territory; acquire new clients successfully and negotiate to expand products and solutions for existing clients
•Build relationships to discuss clients’ strategic and operational challenges, and best map Avalere’s solutions to those challenges
•Conduct consultative onsite presentations to educate prospective clients on our services, including articulating a compelling vision of client solutions
•Meet quarterly and annual revenue goals through management of a sales pipeline with pursuits in various stages of the evaluation process
•Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitors
•Provide insights from business development activities to inform future research initiatives and new product development inquiries
•Collaborate with team member to set and achieve goals, provide formal feedback, and guidance on professional development

Skills, Experience, and Other Job Related Requirements:

The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in work experience.
•Must possess a minimum of three years of post-undergrad experience in at least three of the following: Presentation experience, Leadership experience, Commercial experience, Consulting experience, Teaching experience, Sales experience
•Proven ability to meet and exceed goals
•Ability to conduct presentations and facilitate group discussions
•Proven negotiation and persuasion skills
•Willingness to travel domestically at least 70%
•Valid Driver’s License

The following qualifications are not required but preferred:
•Ability to conduct executive level presentations and facilitate group discussions
•Consultative-based sales experience
•Proven experience managing multiple, competing priorities
•Experience in an entrepreneurial setting
•Proven ability to meet and exceed sales specific goals
•Demonstrated listening skills
•Experience coaching others and providing formal/informal feedback
